The Sangre de Cristo mountains from our daughter's front yard.
As most of you know, we recently flew to Colorado to be with our daughter who was recovering from major surgery. She is improving and doing well. Ironically, about 36 hours ago, I contracted what is euphemistically called a "food-borne" disease, but should be more accurately termed "gastro-intestinal hell"! I'm improving, too, but it will be awhile before we're back home and back to normal. At that time, I'll do my best to catch up on your blogs and commenting.
Thank you for your various expressions of concern and care. This is a great blogging community of which to be a part.

Whoa! Now that's a sight to behold... I mean the mountains, Jacob, not your intestine problem - but, I'll bet that's NOT AT ALL 'BEHOLDING'!!! Heheheee!
Sorry, just had to try & make ya laugh!!! =)
beautiful scenery, the view is fantastic.. quite big these mountains. nice shot..
Your daughter has a fantastic view from her front porch...great place for her--and you--to recover. Someone should have told you to stay away from hospital food : )
What a view from the front yard. Soon these mts will be full of snow I imagine.
Speedy recovery to you and continued recovery to your daughter.
Glad to know that Denise is going well! But so sorry about your intestine problem, it's awful, poor friend!I hope you are feeling better today, please take care!

What a beautiful view. I think seeing scenery like this would help the healing process.
I hope you feel very much better very soon. So glad to hear that your daughter continues to improve. Scary times! This view is amazing, and if I didn't have such a great location myself, I'd be totally jealous. Do these mountains form one of the sides of that huge valley where Buena Vista is located? I should look at the map.
Oh dear, Jacob... another few days have passed since I visited you... but you and yours have been in my thoughts. I trust your daughter - and the rest of you - can now convalesce comfortable looking at this awesome view of hers, and that you all with the food poisoning are soon over it. Knock on wood, but considering my wanton brazenness in eating whatever wherever whenever, it's amazing I have not been stricken more often than the few times I have. Enough to know it's NO FUN. Take good care of each other.
Jacob: I hope you and your family are on the mend. You are MISSED in the blogosphere!
Sorry you ended up sick, too...we all did here too. I just did a little post for the first time, since S's surgery..if you want a chuckle, go read my post....the videos are cute but be sure and read, too.
